What's new?
Next Meeting
Our next meeting will be on Sunday, March 22nd at 7PM in the Plum Room at Sunny View

Future Activities
Super-Trek: Mt. Whitney, short side trips to Death Valley, Ancient Bristlecone and Devil's Postpile. Training hikes have begun and we completed our first hike along the coast between San Gregorio and Pescadero playing tag with the waves. We'll be taking this trip from August 11-16th. Since scaling Mt. Whitney involves a 22-mile hike with a peak elevation of 14,500 over two days, it is important that you be in very good shape.

Past Activities
The crew has gone cycling in the Marin Headlands and in Monterey, kayaked on Monterey Bay, hiked in Big Sur, and did some climbing, rifle shooting, climbed Whitney and cycling.

About Us
Venturing Crew 494 is a co-ed unit that is a High Adventure Ranger crew.  Although we are affiliated with Troop 494, we are open to anyone that meets the membership requirements, which is youth between the ages of 14-20. We plan on meeting once a month, usually in combination with an event.
Our 'official' uniform is the classic green crew shirt and light gray pants.
Thus far, we've gone to the archery range, fired guns, gone hiking, climbing, kayaking, cycling and other fun outings.
